Yeah, I probably will switch to xPerl someday, but haven't spent the time to get it properly configured yet.

I haven't tried Dominos, because AutoBar pretty much fills the need. I'll give try it a try.

Hmmm, I have swapped grid out for xPerl. And I'd also suggest Dominos, for bars. It'll allow you to add a whole bunch of extra bars and will also let you keybind pretty much anything.

huh, I had this same though about 2 months ago. Isn't it an interesting idea? And it make a lot more sense than randomly increasing the number of souls.

I've been reading eBooks on my phones on/off for years now, and I'm starting to like them better than real books. They're always with me, they remember my placemark for me, and don't add to piles already overflowing my bookshelves.

However, they're impossible to loan out, and there is always the fear that the format I have an eBook it will become obsolete or not be available on whatever devices I want to use in the future. As usual, DRM is the problem. fictionwise.com does let you re-download books in different formats, which let me move books from my Palm to iPhone.

I'm debating getting a Kindle to go with my iPhone. I probably will, but I'd be a lot more comfortable without the DRM.

Yeah, I'm considering getting the Kindle software for the iphone. But I really prefer physical books to ebooks. And if I had books on my phone I'd never do anything but read all the time...

I eventually ran into another snag. Postfix (the internal mail handling system) was missing it's main directory, an so hosed.

It would slowly consume internal resources until my machine starting having weird problems, and was then unable to launch any application. A restart would fix things.... for a few days.

The solution is (from a console):

sudo mkdir /var/spool/postfix
sudo postfix stop
sudo postfix start

I found the fix here: http://www.pajbam.com/?p=150

Not wanting to break stuff is a good idea. I hate locks that are stiff like that. I always have terrible visions of the key breaking off in the lock, and then not only am I unable to open that lock, but I'm now short a key for any other locks.
